先月、春の恒例行事、アオリイカ釣りに行ってきました。
餌のアジを一人、何匹購入しようかと話してました。
最近の物価高でアジの価格も上がってるので、
必要最低限購入にすることになりました。
釣具店に到着すると、店先に「アジ入荷待ち」との貼り紙が！
何匹購入とか、物価高以前に、餌のアジが無いとは・・・。
現地で海を眺めて帰ることになろうとは。
A Spring Tradition, Interrupted
Last month, I headed out for my annual spring outing to
fish for Japanese squid. On the way, I found myself debating
how many bait fish to buy—prices have gone up lately,
so we decided to keep it to the minimum. But when
we arrived at the tackle shop, a sign at the entrance read,
“Aji out of stock.” So much for discussing quantities or rising
costs—there wasn’t any bait at all. In the end,
we simply stood by the shore, looked out at the sea,
and made the quiet trip back home.
